Device Groups
Device Groups let you organise endpoints for bulk operations like refresh, emergency broadcast, and reboot. Groups can be static (manually selected endpoints) or dynamic (tag-based selectors that automatically include matching endpoints).
Navigate to Settings > Device Groups to manage device groups.
Requires the TenantAdmin role or higher and the DEVICE_GROUPS entitlement (Professional plan and above).
Static Groups
A static group contains a fixed list of endpoints that you manually assign.
Creating a Static Group
- Click New Device Group
- Select Static as the group type
- Enter a name for the group
- Select endpoints from the list to include
- Click Create
Static groups are useful when you have a known set of displays — for example, “Lobby Screens” or “Building A”.
Dynamic Groups
A dynamic group uses tag-based selectors. Any endpoint whose tags match the selector is automatically included. When you add or change tags on an endpoint, the group membership updates instantly.
Creating a Dynamic Group
- Click New Device Group
- Select Dynamic as the group type
- Enter a name for the group
- Define the tag selector — one or more tags that endpoints must match
- Click Create
Dynamic groups are ideal for large deployments where endpoints are tagged by location, hardware type, or purpose.
Using Device Groups
Once created, device groups appear wherever you can target endpoints in bulk:
- Emergency Broadcast — Send an alert to all endpoints in a group
- Bulk Refresh — Force a content refresh across the group
- Bulk Reboot — Remotely restart all devices in the group
- Scene Assignment — Assign content to a group of endpoints at once
Endpoint Count
Each group in the list shows the number of currently matching endpoints. For dynamic groups, this count updates automatically as endpoints are added, removed, or re-tagged.
Editing and Deleting
Click a group in the list to edit its name, type, or membership. Delete a group from the detail page — this removes only the group definition, not the endpoints themselves.
